The Avalanche Rod can be purchased for 35,000 credits from the top of the Northern Summit . You'll also need the Glider to reach the rod, so ensure you have it before beginning the quest. Start by getting on a boat from the Moosewood dock and sail into the sea towards your left. Look for the Northern Expedition marker as shown in the image above. Upon reaching the indicator, you'll encounter a portal that you must enter.
After warping through the portal, keep sailing straight and you'll soon come up on the Northern Summit island . From the base camps, you'll spot a series of ladders leading inside the island. These ladders act as a trail that you can follow to reach the top of the mountain . Cross a few camps, climb several ladders, and hug the mountain while walking along the cliffs (see images above for reference).
